here are some photos of where you can stay when you come visit, although i didnt include photos of the 2nd bedroom, so that there are still some surprises left for you when you arrive.... suffice it to say that the headboard of the second bed is dimpled pink satin. i feel like im in some horrid period film when im in there.
nothing like an already furnished apartment to make you question your own decorating tastes...
("was i right when i previously thought that a dimpled pink satin headboard was tacky? i dont know anymore.... who am i, anyway?")
so, heres the photo tour:
LIVING ROOM -
KITCHEN - the most unused room in the house.
KITCHEN - check out the precious little green fridge! (its empty)
KITCHEN - the breakfast table with kitschy "bamboo" table. so charming....
BEDROOM -
PORCH - my favorite part!
DETAIL OF THE PORCH AWNING -
there is also a second bathroom with a washing machine in it, which is grrrrreat! however, the machine is Japanese and has no english on it at all. i keep washing things, without a clue as to what my button choices are instructing the machine to do. things smell clean and seem damp after the cycle is done, so im going to assume its working unless i gather additional information to the contrary...
i hope to soon share the list of stupid and ignorant things ive done (but, unfortunately for the Cambodian people, im still adding to it), such as browsing through some family's laundry hanging on the clothesline, thinking the clothes were for sale.
(to my credit, the clothes were hanging out on the sidewalk in front of their store, where they were selling other clothes. still, i felt like that American who sees a beautiful ancient Buddhist relic and is like, "ooh, how much for that?! Patton and Tiny would just love that for their new beach house!")
if you want to write me, you can send mail to my office address. it apparently wont make it to the house...
id love to hear from you!!
