*funny side note: you have to pay to get your packages from the PO! so, you pay to send it and then i have to pay to pick it up. what a racket. the thing ive been told to do is to send a willing Khmer colleague so you dont get charged the whitey price (three to four times as much) to pick up YOUR package that has already been PAID FOR. transparent corruption at its finest.... but
send something anyway! (letters come straight to me at work)
Once when we lived in Kenya we tried to recreate a Masai delicacy. When the winged termites shed their wings and came walking under the doorway toward the light (they were theologically-sound termites), we'd gather them up, put them in the skillet, and cook them. They had enough oil in them to cook nicely on their own. Tasted like peanuts, but more leggy.
