Cambodian colleague (cc): what does it mean to say 'get the head in the game?'
me: it's like if you're not paying attention and i yell, 'hey! get your head in the game! pay attention!'
cc: during a game?
me: or, like, during a meeting at work. 'hey, you! pay attention - get your head in the game.'
cc: pay attention anywhere?
me: yes.
cc: what does it mean, 'get your head out of your sock!'?
me: i dont know. i dont think that anyone says that.
cc: yes, they do.
me: can you give me an example of when someone might say 'get your head out of your sock?'
cc: its like when someone is trying to tell seriously to you, 'do not put your head inside your shoe. get your head out of your sock.' its like wanting someone to trust you.
me: oh, ok. i haven't heard that one. thanks for that.
