today i went with some friend to our Khmer teacher's house near the airport. he cooked some wonderful food for us - he got up at 4:30 in the morning and went to the market and we all ate at noon at his house. he bbq'd squid, and we had this interesting mixture of egg + coconut + pork + sprouts that we spread inside a lettuce leaf with herbs and cucumber and then dipped in fish sauce with crushed peanuts. delicious!
i drank entirely too much sr'aa beer ankghor, and ate the wonderful fare. the toast/'cheers' here is 'svy comb' which literally means 'the monkeys head-butt each other.' so appro-po.
i have plans to play shuffleboard at 7, but we will see if that actually happens...
there are some other entertaining shop names that have been brought to my attention recently. sorry i dont have photos:
